My Goals for this Class

My goals for this class are simple. First, I want to pass this class with an A. Second, I want to share my talents with everyone. Third, help my peers pass with an A. Fourth, Fail No assignment. Fifth, Give my all and do my best in everything. Sixth, be open to new ideas. Finally, expand my genre; the type of writing I do.

Thinking Through Feedback

Most of the feedback that I received back was very helpful. I was happy that my peer responders were honest and told me what they thought I should change about my story. They didn’t just leave all good responses which I like because even though we are friends, I know that being a writer means you get good feedback and bad feedback. With the bad feedback, I really took it in consideration since it was based on what my readers would like. I like Montinique’s feedback when she told me that she thinks I should change my title. The title of my story was “Lust not Love”. She felt that with this title, I was giving my whole story away. She told me that my story kept her interested and I used a lot of details to help her understand it more. She suggested that I use more Dialogue between the two characters, and/or let the male character have more lines to speak.

Lanesha’s feed back was also very helpful. She liked how my story had a twist to it that kept her attention to it. She also liked the fact the one of my characters names were Royal in remembrance off my best friend A.J. She thought that gesture was sweet. She liked the fact that my story reminded her of our childhood and she thought it was hot!! She, just like Montinque agreed that I had a few spelling and grammar errors. She suggested that I add a comedy scene to my story and that would make it better. I really looked into this but decide against it.

I really did take their feedback in consideration and agreed with Montinque about changing my title. I felt that this was a good title because, like me, I like to read books that have interesting titles. I will check through my paper for little, minor mistakes but overall, my story is good to go.

Self Reflective

In Creative Writing, I have learned how to become a better writer. I have been able to seek my passion for writing and became willing to share it with everyone. I have found out that when I become frustrated about a situation, that helps me write a fantastic story. I know that may sound backwards, but its true. Mr. Weiler helped me notice this trait and that’s how my Fairy tale became a popular story. Also in Creative Writing, I have expressed my self in writing, in many different ways. My goal for this class was to become a better writer, express my self in my writing, and be better than the rest. I truly believe that I have accomplished this goal because, I have become a better writer, I really express my self in my writing, and I have become better than the rest. When given writing assignments, I choose to write about difficult subjects because I like challenges.

I think that I have made a lot of progress in this class and achieved a lot. I feel that this class was made especially for me to really see my passion for writing. I really enjoyed this class and it helped become a better writer and has encouraged me too keep writing.

My Final Project Propsal

The reason why I chose to write a short story is because I felt that I can show my passion for reading and writing this way. I felt that writing this story I can show the other “creative” side of me. I also wanted to teach a lesson to those reading and let other’s see my transfer from my fairy tale, to my urban tale. If I wasn’t going to do the short story, I would have chose to do the poems. Why I would have done the poems is because I use poetry as a scapegoat from everything that is on my mind. The poems would show how I express my way through words but not in a story form. I would relate some of the poems to things I have seen in my everyday life and some things that I have experienced. I would also write what others may be going through and feeling.

But I came to the conclusion that I would write my short urban tale. With this story I plan on showing things that really do happen. Like how girls fall in love with these drug dealers, killers, and gangsters and get their hearts broken. Or they get caught in something that they can’t get out of. I also plan on showing how guns, lies, sex, drugs and betrayal, love, lust play a huge role and the outcome is very unexpected. I feel that I can really write something that is an attention grabber and keep my readers interested and guessing what’s going to happen next.

Finally, I am writing this story because not many people can write. I mean I can express myself and write what other’s may feel but scared to say how they feel. I am writing form other stories I read that caught my attention, so I know what other’s want to read.

“Exquisite”

The word “Exquisite” means, “very beautiful, delicate”. The reason why I chose this word is because it sums me up in one word. I love what the meaning of the word is and the way it sounds when I say it. This word Intrigues me. Another reason why I chose this word is because it helps build my vocabulary. Exquisite is another way to show that I have class and self respect for myself. I look highly and think highly of myself that I am far from average and that I treat myself as precious as I am.

I am a very lovely kind hearted person and I believe in myself 100%. I am not like other girls who have low self esteem and not enough confidence. Being able to have a strong vocabulary and be able to say that I’m Exquisite is a way of showing that I’m destined for greatness.

I am a wonderful person who is very determined. The word Exquisite sounds beautiful when I say it or hear it. Another reason why I chose the word exquisite is because it’s not a common word that you hear very often. Many people really don’t know what the word exquisite means so this is another way for me to teach and help others extend their vocabulary.

“If I could write a best-seller…”

If I could write a best seller, it would be half fiction and half non fiction. My story would be this way because some of the things I may write about may be real and some of the things I write may be fake. My best seller would be about something that most people can relate to, which is life. It would probably be about back stabbers, phony’s, fakes, and real b!+%#3$. Many girls now a days claim to be real but when push comes to shove, they are really fake. My story will tell of a real b!+%# who overlooks all the petty things that occured in her life. It will show how she stayed real to herself and people close to her.

The Fictional things that would occur in the story may seem real in life but not really happening to my character. She will live in the hood trying to make it out. It would show all the struggles that people hwo live in the hood go through but show how she was able to get out and do something good with her life. In the end all the ones that turned on her will need her and she will do the same thing she did to them-turn her back to them and not on them, cause she is far from a backstabber.

My Fairy Tale…A happy ending?

When i first started my paper off, I was not feeling it. Ifelt that we as sophmores are to old to fear monsters. After thinking about it I realized I am afraid of some things. That thing was Death. So I decided to write a story about Death vs. my best friend A.J. I felt that this would be easy to write about because my best friend meant a lot to me. Plus the way that he left this world, he left as a hero. He tried to save someone’s life was unsucessful and lost his in the process.

So this story was not hard for me to write. It was hard for me to stay strong while writing it because my heart has a sensitive spot for my best friend. I tried my best to make my story fictional and not to realistic. Overall, I enjoyed the writing. I made it with kings and queen and a perfect land. I know there is no where perfect but I guess in my story a more sensitive side came out.

In conclusion, I enjoyed writing my story. My fairy tale had an ending that I really wanted to come true. My hero won and defeated Death. Also, in my story no one every died. Death never returned and no one died. This should be the way life is now. That way I would be able to see my great grandmother, my aunt, my best friend, ect.

My Fairy Tale

My Fairy Tale is going the way that it should be. I mean everything is going as planned and I’m staying on track. My Fairy Tale is about a queen named Anastasia and a king named T.J. They are well respected and many people admire their relationship and how they feel for each other. Then there is this old man who lives in the woods and at night his backyard is like a graveyard and tombstones appear at night.

The queen asks her best friend Adrian Jones a.k.a Royalty to keep a close watch on the old man named Death. This goes on for awhile and Royalty and Death fight each other. long story short….one looses the battle. (not Royalty)

After two weeks, my writing…..

Has been challeneged for the good. It has gotten stronger and I am able to express myself in words more. I mean before this class, I already knew how to express myself through words and I had a way with words. This class just contributed to helping me excel to the next level. This class has helped me think of more challenging words to use to describe myself, which puts me on a college level. I feel that after two weeks I seem to enjoy writing a little bit more.

Has made feel like this class is just a step stool to what colleges will be looking for. I also feel that my writing has matured because I’m able to be open about certain things and still have that positive outlook on it.

This is not a good day for me but I’m trying to hide what’s really going on. Today makes a year since my sister Laquesha has been dead. Many people may have not known who she was or that we was sisters but we were. It’s just hard to accept the fact that i will never see her again. She was a student her at N.L.C.P but didn’t attend this campus. So I’m trying to be strong and I’m trying my best not to cry but i feel that I’m going to break down any second now. Why the good die? I still remember the last time I talked to her and the last time I saw her, Not knowing that will be the last time. I’m not going to go in to much details about this but She will always be in my heart. I promise that we will meet again. I know that she’s in a better place and I know she watching over me as i write this now.
